spa weekend
Had a late invite Thursday for a weekend at Hannah’s. Leo decided at the last minute that he wasn’t up to going, so it was just me. Extremely relaxing. I came Saturday morning; Hannah picked me up at the train, we smoked a joint, and went shopping for weekend food and doo-dads. Got back to the house and speed-prepped dinner (a few other couples were coming over, J & L, B & B, one other), then spend the afternoon in the brand-new hot tub and sunning ourselves. The pool (above-ground) was still a mite chilly. Eat drink & much merry in the PM. J brought his fiddle and B his guitar. Nice.
Sun and pool on Sunday. Memorial Day parade, sun and pool on Monday. The parade was great, a classic small-town affair with antique cars, fire engines, kids on decorated bikes, a marching band, and a lot of veterans.
I came home sun-kissed and relaxed. Leo was just plain hot; no a/c yet in our top-floor apt, tho we’re going to correct that this weekend, at least in the bedroom.
Oh, and to back up a bit, Will and I had a lively session on Friday after the office closed at 12:30. (No, not *at* the office.) I had mentioned that I really hadn’t felt able to pick up where we left off, and needed to be warmed up a bit more. So he did, and I did, and then we did. I think once a month should do it.
My authors and their books are performing nicely. No complaints. In fact, I found out that the film director David Lynch is doing a creativity book for us, so I asked for it and got it. Should be exciting.
Shroom Guy is touring the left coast, just where he belongs. They will love him there. I actually sent e-mails with the subject line “coffee & shrooms with a touring author?”
Also, I sold $150 worth of jewelry over the weekend. (I give nice pieces to Hannah and her daughter when I visit, but Hannah always wants more; B also bought 3 pair of earrings.)
So I’m pretty jolly, tho still a little woozy from all the sun this weekend. Didn’t sleep too well on Monday because of the heat in the apt; I slept better last night but am still wonky.

Your weekend sounded fun! Laying in the sun always takes it out of me.
Oh, I rememeber those days of being in a building when they control the ac & heat. YUCK! Never once do they turn it on at the right point.
Congrats on the jewelry sales!
